I was thinking, Hemi really like fireworks but he also likes forts. I wonder which he would choose in this situation.

I'll have to train one of my cats to use the camera.

Hemi could join Ram in the fort and let him know that there's nothing to be afraid of, and then they could both watch the fireworks.

Love your Fireworks Fort solution! Mocha's not really afraid of fireworks or thunder (not that he's been exposed much), but the howling wind gives him a scare. He'll sail across the room and into DH's lap (108 lb of lab) and Mocha feels better.

Someone mentioned leaning back against her dog during thunder or other loud noises (? janedoe?), like trapping the pup between her back and the sofa cushions. I've taken turns time leaning against my daughter's dog who hates those noises. I'll suggest a fort next time! I agree that photo evidence is needed here!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
