Hey guys, New here from Texas welcome Chevy

First thing I would like to say is that hes a mix breed. His mother was German Shep but no one knows what his father was so any ideas would be helpful. I think hes either Boxer or Lab just because Labs are common around here. Im from Texas and while I always loved animals I never understood the wacky bond between owners and there pets until now. Ive owned him since he was 6 weeks old and hes my best friend and incredibly smart. Hes about 80lbs and about 40 feet tall when he standing up give or take. Please help me here guys I appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum! That is a tall, skinny pup at 80 lbs and 40 ft tall, lol! (I am guessing a typo)

What a precious boy, his baby pics make him look like a teddy bear! I am not the best with guessing mixes but I would say a Boxer/Shepherd mix or maybe Lab/Shepherd/Boxer, not that it matters one bit. We don't discriminate, lol! Many members, including myself, have a mix. My oldest is a Lab/Border Collie mix and she is a sweet, bossy big sister to her Lab brother. Others have different breeds with or without a Lab in their pack, we love them all. What ever he is, he is a handsome boy! Looking forward to hearing more about your sweet baby.

    Hello and welcome!

I'd think Boxer was what was added to his mix, too...perhaps Boxer/Lab if daddy was a mix. What a sweet face he has.

Oh, Chevy is certainly a cutie! I've had boxers before and his facial expression and the way he holds his ears in some of those photos reminds me of ours.

I'm not an expert in dog training or behavior but tell us what happens if he has to be at home if you have to go out without him. I know others have had to try to deal with what could be some separation anxiety. Does he stay inside or outside when you're gone? How much contact does he have with other dogs or people? Has he had any sort of obedience classes? Just to get us started

Thanks for joining us, we look forward to seeing more! I especially like that close up photo of his face in your first post!

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
