I just got the news that my brother's dog Trooper has crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. He rescued Trooper after someone threw him out of a car while driving down the interstate. My brother stopped and searched for the puppy, with help from a state trooper. When they found the pup, he had many broken bones, so he rushed him to a vet. My brother had to carry Trooper around while he healed up, so they had a very strong bond. The funny thing is, two different veterinarians told my brother that Trooper was a miniature beagle, 130 pounds later, it was obvious that he wasn't. Trooper was my brother's heart dog, my mom said that Trooper passed in his arms. Trooper was twelve years old. He was the sweetest dog and all you had to do to get him to wag his tail was to say his name. Run Free Trooper, you are loved and missed...

We thought maybe some sort of coonhound, but not sure. He was certainly not a miniature beagle...
