    No Kimber kisses, thank you

I was sitting outside with Kimber this weekend; me on the porch, her among the bushes. At least I *thought* that's where she was. I would check on her every few minutes and one check revealed a lack of Kimber. I ran to the back of the house and there she was, about 100 feet away near our property line. I called her name and she looked up- and continued munching. Ugh! As I hurried to her, the munching became chowing down. She had found a dead rodent of some kind; all that was left was fur and random bits.

She, of course, was thrilled. DH and I, not so much.

Thank goodness for that labrador tummy of steel though: She did not yurk it up, and pooped about 5 times.

Shall we place bets that she has to be de-wormed after this? Oh, the joys of living in the country with labs...

how quickly they learn not to come prancing to us to show us the Most Wonderful Thing I Have Found and Am About To Eat!
it so quickly becomes the "stealth chow-down" before we ruin their fun!

You could get some food grade diatomaceous earth and give her a tbsp a day for about a week, in case of worms. That is what I have started doing with my dogs when we get back from a day in the country, since they love to eat all the wild animal poop. I just plop it on their food and add some water to it.

Ewwwww!! It is such a feeling of dread when they don't come running. That "quick, let me finish this yummy treat look" is priceless. (Not in a good way, lol!)

Ugh!!! I think the worst is the look of glee on their face as the hourk down the unknown delicacy.
