There is a FAQ section but yes the website is hard to navigate. The battery is supposed to last about a week and yes I think it's waterproof.

I own the pet tracker for Chili. it works pretty well. I dont use it anymore. one thing I didnt like is battery life. when new it would last 3 days, now I have to charge it everyday which is a pain. also in play with other dogs its sides had gotten chewed up...they still work, but it had caused the signal strength of the tracking/collar unit to be greatly diminished and the only fix is to buy a new unit. So overall, when in new condition I loved it, after a few months of use, I think it is junk and I dont use anymore. your mileage may vary.

I plan to use this on my cat as well!!
