I always make a cake for Maxx and Emma. They also get to pick 2 toys from the feed store and they get a grilled steak with their dinner. I am pretty sure they enjoy their day!

Bacon's mom - how did Bacon get his name? I have always wondered about this!

It was actually Jake. Jake had always dreamt of having a black lab named Bacon. He never really explained why but he always says, who doesnt love Bacon?! So I told Jake since this was his first dog, and on top of that the breeder let us know that there was a black male, that he could name the puppy, but I get dibs on naming Bacon's little brother (when we get him in a few years).

Mocha loves just about everything! For his first birthday, I made him a dog friendly cake and ice cream. For the ice cream, I mixed up some vanilla yogurt with some peanut butter. I scooped it in ice cube trays and put a smaller size dog bone in the middle and froze them like dog bone popsicles! They don't freeze hard but not solid. Mocha loves them!

So, I have a good friend who is all about dogs. Dogs, dogs, dogs! She is better at remembering my dogs' birthdays than I am and always supplies them with Christmas gifts and she gives me Mothers Days gifts from my dogs. I just get so busy that I often let it pass. I know, I'm horrible... And, she is pretty awesome.

Last year she gave me a container of homemade turkey cupcakes and this year she made a "loaf" of ground duck and sardine (raw) sprinkled with a bit of goat cheese. She drove it to my house and handed it to me on the day of his birthday. I said, "what is this???" and she said, "it is a cake...for your dog's birthday!" then she lectured me about forgetting.

Both birthday treats were scarfed down very quickly.

Micah's birthday slipped up on me this year. I thought about it towards the end of the day so I just wrapped a slice of cheese around a dog biscuit. He seemed to enjoy it.
