Have not read all posts but at least 26% protein or higher. Guc/chon/msm for support along with fish oil. Quality protein is important. I would not go with a vet recommended prescript. food by any means.

Honestly, the best food for "joint support" is anything that allows you to keep them on the lean side to prevent extra weight that they have to haul around on those dysplastic joints. My dysplastic girl did great on Cosequin DS and Adequan injections (started at 2 x's/wk x 1 month, the 1 x/wk x 1 mo, then as needed to keep her comfortable and limber), along with keeping her on the lean side. As you probably already know by now, exercise is key- lots of it, but low impact. No "pounding the pavement," so to speak. Our girlie loved going to the beach, but we would premedicate her with carprofen before going, and keep her on it for a day or two afterward to prevent her activities ("overdoing it" most of the time) from making her so uncomfortable afterward.

we're going to stick with the Fromm, work on getting a couple pounds off of her, and start Cosequin.

    This!

I don't think any kibble has a decent amount of glucosamine and chondroitine for a dog with joint problems and arthritis. I would definitely find a good glucosamine and chondroitine supplement.
