Hard to explain. Not a day goes by that I don't see her in Ruby. In some ways it helps, in others it is just a constant reminder of a really, REALLY bad event. Tomorrow Ruby will be partaking in Rally Novice again. Here is a pic of her debut ribbon (~Aug 1) w/ her cousin (and favorite playmate here) Kanzi. Kanzi is the baby on the platform in my sig pic, btw. That tongue again, lol.... I have to say, I was very proud of both girls that weekend. Ruby actually got a 95 in Rally Nov at barely 6mos old, despite her immaturity! Kanzi well, Kanzi is a special one. Loves obed. She is up for 3 titles this weekend if I can keep it together.

I imagine it is bittersweet to have a living reminder of Roxy laying at your feet, but I hope as time marches on, and you have success with Ruby, and breed further generations, it will be more about the sweetness of Roxy's legacy and what you and she are giving back to the breed. My younger boy shares some of Roxy (and Ruby's) forbears, and if Ruby is anything like him, I'm sure she will fill every one of your days with smiles and sunshine. I hope time eases your heart a bit.
