    Eating grass

Does any of your dogs eat grass? Mocha seem to be almost preoccupied with it. There are times he will eat grass and not play ball. I wonder if he's missing something in his diet or is he part billy goat?

Yes. Jet had a special grass she liked. She would stop as we went down the trail and look at me. To me she was asking, "Will you wait for me while I browse a bit?" I'd wait, she'd chomp for a few minutes and then we'd be on our way. she didn't eat enough to be sick but it's common knowledge dogs will eat grass to be sick. I walked through a patch of that grass in bare legs one day. Yowzer, it had sharp edges, I was covered in little slices that bled. How come her mouth didn't bleed is a mystery.

Yes! I was recently embarrassed when I had to pull the grass out of his butt!

Yep, Jake ate it all the time when his belly was upset. Mainly in the spring with the change of the weather. Helps him settle his stomach.

At times, my two will graze like cows. No ill effects and only an occasional puke. Luckily, no klingon's.
Hope all is well and have a great day

I've had a couple who were cows...ate it for the sheer joy of it....no upset stomachs. They were all Labs.

Now? Sunnie is part cow and allowed to eat only the grass on our own property (even the park sprays in some places and putting up signs isn't a priority either there or for some of the private lawn services along our path)....it doesn't seem to be related to anything special other than enjoying the grass. Danny tends to eat grass (our property only) when his stomach is funny....I tend to associate his eating with soreness from too much walking/running/roughhousing with his mama.

Yup - I've got a lab-cow over here too! It seems like the longer the grass the better for her! There doesn't seem to be any reason for when and why she does it and it doesn't seem to affect her digestively but I keep an eye on her anyway.

Ah fresh, sweet, spring grass. Mardi love it. Haven't caught Archie grazing yet.

My Emma is a grazer. It is only allowed on our property, we do not use chemicals on the lawn. She has never gotten sick, I think she eats it because she really likes it, especially new Spring grass. When she is grazing there is no distracting her, she is on a mission!
