Some spinners and weavers near us do that too. One told me she loves Samoyed undercoat, it's already a light colour and there's so much per dog. How long before your lady might have enough of Mardi and Archie to make something for you?
Sitting ring side at the recent IKC show, a lady beside me was spinning fibers. Yep, it was dog fur. She had a couple of balls of dog fur yarn and they were beautiful. I jokingly said I could probably keep her supplied for life and she whipped out a card and almost begged me to send her some. The dog does not have to be washed first, she has special bags that she washes the fur either before or after spinning, depending on how dirty/smelly it is. All she asked was that the fur be bagged separately (Mardi's from Archie's) and labeled, yellow lab, black and tan shepherd. She had a couple of bags of several breeds, having me feel each one and noticing the difference in texture. She had a really nice shawl on in shades of tans, dog fur.
So, if you want to get rid of all that dog fur in a unique way, PM me and I give you her name and address.
