Mardi gets her range of motion exercises and massage every evening. When the vet reviewed x-rays from a couple of years back her comment was they were in bad shape.

Today I was putting a roast in the slow cooker, dogs were outside. I keep a close eye on Mardi and when she started up the ramp, quickly rinsed my hands. She did the "I'm not sure about the step" routine, me standing there with the door wide open, below 10 degrees outside. Then it hit me, put my hand in front of her nose and the look on her face. She hopped to the entrance and then just as fast up the kitchen step. Girl is not about to miss a snack.

Good thoughts coming. Watching our companions become creaky is upsetting, all the more reason to continue loving them and helping them along.

Obviously the smell of good food over rides pain for the moment, but it is still there. Sending youth MOJO to that sweet girl.

It occurs to me that my seniors with arthritis always got worse over the winter just from the weather - they often perked up again in the spring once it it was warmer and we could go back to regular gentle exercise. Tell Mardi to just hang on another few weeks until the weather changes!

    Annette47, you are so right.

Thankfully, I think she might have just tweaked her front leg. She seems to be moving and doing the small steps well today.

    Come on warm weather.

Spring is not quite here yet, but very soon. The last few days I have heard the birds singing and saw squirrels chasing each other (for mating).

Some bulbs are starting to shoot up and show green. We just have to be a little more patient and wait.
