Has anyone ever had someone ask to see their dogs rabies tag? Unless were going to the dog park or beach my dogs never have their rabies tags on them and no one has ever questioned it or asked me to see it.

I use the rubits with no problems, but when we are running/swimming she uses a collar that doesn't have tags (bad I know).

My girls never wear their rabies tags, either.
Just researched it to find they are not required to wear tags, but must be vaccinated. (in FL)

I find the weak point is the thin metal wire that makes the connection to the tag itself. All the removable clipping systems look to work adequately but the hanging tag can be caught and lost or the ring wear thin and the tag is lost.

I've been buying Archie collars with his name and phone number embroidered on it. Some have leashes with the same info. I have his tags on a clip that is clipped to my belt loop or inside the fanny pack treat bag that also carries my ID and car keys. A copy of his rabies info and microchip number are in the glove box of the car. Do like the boomerang tags and need to get them for collars that don't have his name on them.

I've looked into the Tag Its, but not sure how sturdy they are. I want something to be able to easily change tags on Molly's collar as she grows.

I do the same thing... embroidered collars with name and phone number, rabies and microchip copies are in my car's glovebox. Embroidered collars are the best!

I use the Boomerang tag for the ID and contact info and it works great for swimming, wrestling, etc!. I was using the Rubit for the rabies and city tag but has anyone found that the tags "trim" the fur? It took me forever to figure out why Shadow had a balding spot until one day I noticed it was the location where the tags rubbed. I removed the tags (I keep a paper copy of the tags in my car if Animal Control ever stops us and I don't have the actual tags on me).

I should add we also use the quiet spot we bought from our rescue. All their tags fit into the pocket and attach to the ring on their collars you can see in my sig picture, I dont' have to hear their rabies, id, chip and property tax id jingling. I also have an id tag on the outside collar so it is easier if someone finds them to call me if needed. Yes mine wear all their tags so there are several ways to contact me plus it keeps their tags clean not worn from wear.

Questioned here. But really like all the suggestions made on the clips and embroidered collars. I'm going to have to make sure rabies tag is on at all time. Big fines by the township if you don't. And the dog will suffer. Know the laws and how is interpreted here, so being extra, extra cautious.
