For some reason, I panic that if I "might" get hungry. God forbid if my stomach should growl (#firstworldproblemsforsure) but I also get hangry and it's just awful. If there is no food around, I bring plenty and I always end up taking it back home or giving it away. Better to be safe than sorry!

When I go to a HT, I cannot eat. I have no appetite. I am obsessed with watching all the dogs run. I don't realize I'm hungry until everything is packed up and I'm back in the truck. So what has worked for me is:

For the long drive to the event... nuts and graham crackers. Maybe some dried fruit.

For the event... raisin bread and creamed cheese in the morning... anything spread on bread in the afternoon. (I am going to make some chicken salad. I love pimento cheese. I could also take some peanut butter.) I'll have corn chips with me, but in the past... they have not appealed to me.

What works for you when you are at an event all day long?
I don't know how it is at other sites, but running Juniors, we always have to wait for the pros. Last time it was an hour and a half. The site where our tests are held (the island) often requires driving from Masters or Seniors to Juniors. Also, at the last test, there were no port-a-potties for Juniors at the water series. We either had to go behind a tree where the cows hang out at night, walk a mile or drive (if you are able to get in/out of your spot). It felt like rough camping for a few hours.

Exactly. Leftovers can be taken home!

Hangry is not an option at a dog show! I usually leave some stuff packed in the car, as well as my cooler. You know, just in case.... LOL
