    Boerboel male - need help.

My holistic vet's assistant is dealing with the sudden loss of her godfather who is really more like her father. He had a two year old Boerboel dog (South African Mastiff) and she simply can't afford to keep him.

Does anyone have any advice on Mastiff rescues? She is just crushed and needs some help to place this beloved dog.

    Thank you.

Try contacting the American Boerboel club rescue coordinator. Below from their site:

The American Boerboel Club can not/does not supply funding for rescue/re-homing/veterinary fees for individual animals. However, our
Rescue Coordinator will make every effort to help direct requests for assistance to one of ABC's recommended and approved rescue
organizations. Please contact K. Collins at abcrescuecoordinator@hotmail.com.

Thank you. I have e-mailed to that address and also made an inquiry with a Mastiff rescue here in New England. This woman is just the nicest person in the world. I hope I can help.

Sorry for your friends loss. I hope she is able to find a responsible Boerboel rescue - they are a breed of dog not meant for everyone, can be very protective and need to be well socialized.

We ran into a 5 month old Boerboel one night, it was already bigger than Bubba...but one of the cutest puppies and such a sweetheart. When I went home and looked them up online and saw how big they get full grown I was astonished!
