I'd like to wait another 2-3 years so that Bear is a little more mature. Plus I kind of have my eye on a young prospect mama dog that I really like the lineage of. If everything works for her, she'd be having her first litter around that time frame.

      March 4 months old - 29 pounds
      Aprl 5 months old - 36 pounds
      May 6 months old - 52 pounds
      June 7 months old - 62 pounds
      July 8 months - 66 pounds

At 6 months old, I changed his puppy food to adult. Might be the slow down in weight gain? In the last week it seems like he has grown so much. He back legs are so long and his hind end is getting wider.....or so it seems! :-)
Asher had a trip to the vet yesterday and at 10 months old, he is 75 lbs. He seems now to be growing wider and not taller. I love watching his little butt fill in! :-)

Brooks weighed in at 75.0 on his 16 month birthday. He is definitely looking more masculine, his body is filling in, and when you look at his head, you have no doubt you're looing at a male.

Leo is now nearly a year 1/2 old and his weight has leveled out. He is around 88 lbs, so more than doubled his weight at four months old. He's very muscular and fairly tall, but certainly not the tallest lab I've ever seen. Has been a fun year and he makes me smile daily. Aren't labs great?

This will be a year ago next weekend. I weighed bear today..........

He was mostly on the scale, but his butt was hanging off a little.

So if I double the 4 month weight he should be at 92.4 pounds.

      He isn’t.

      He’s 94.2 pounds.

So we take the weight of the puppy at 4 months - is that 16 weeks? Or are we just counting 4 months forward -Aug 17 to Dec 17?

So if it's ok with the moderators I'd like to pin this post, and I'll post a weekly weight until May 6, 2017, and we'll see how close the theory comes to fact.

Brooks hit his 18 month birthday today. He weighed in at a solid 74.7 pounds. He did pee on the scale, so that could have changed the weight by a couple ounces .

So it would seem the theory is pretty much spot on with a sample size of one!!

But if you add in Cookie and Sassy, it doesn’t because according to the theory they should both be around 60-65 lbs, but their healthy weights are 10 lbs less than that! Guess they were chunky youngsters, LOL. Actually I think it was just they grew fast, and stopped, at least height wise, so at 4 months, they were already more than half-way there ...

Nice! Thanks for the info! Is he on the small end of male labs? I tried to look at Brooks puppy pics in the puppy pictures to get an idea of appropriate growth for a puppy but the pics won’t show up.

We are expecting Jett to be about 85lbs or even more possibly (based on his dad’s size) He has an vet appointment for his boosters on Thursday which will be exactly 12 weeks so we’ll get an really accurate weight for him then. I’m sure he’s over 20 lbs at this point and it’s getting harder for me to carry him.
