Sonic's father is a stocky show Lab and weighs around 88 pounds.

Sonic was the biggest pup in the litter and he weighs 12 pounds at almost 11 weeks. Let's see where he gets at the 4 month mark. I hope he will be just a little bit smaller than his dad. But I guess he will be larger than Cookie, since his paws and head are much bigger than Cookie's were at that age.

And yes, I had to use a converter for this as I am thinking in kilograms, lol.
I never realized that Cookie was on the smaller side. All those muscles threw me off, I guess.

My Hershey was short and muscular and carried 75 lbs. his entire adult life...and Hersh looked pretty small. His "sister" Honey was tall and lanky at 65 lbs. Mismatch!

It will be interesting to see how Sonic's weight progresses. At 11 weeks, Joey weighed about 18 lb. (8 kg) He and Henry were both from show lines and their dads were of similar weight to Sonic's dad, around 40 kg or a little more. You think American show lines run heavier? I wouldn't have guessed Cookie was in the 60s. All our male labs have been in the 37-42 kg range.

I believe American show lines are a bit stockier, at least from the pictures I am seeing and from the expected weight of the puppies to be 10kg at 10 weeks on average (1 kg per week of age). Also the AKC and FCI standards differ a bit, despite the fact that the FCI standard does not define weight, the AKC standard allows slightly taller dogs.

Do you know how tall Sonic's dad is?

I don't know how tall Johnnie's parents are. I know his mom is 65 and dad is 85. Johnnie is 26" tall and 84 pounds. He was 13.1 pounds the day he came home, at just over 8 weeks.

Do your labs have as clear a distinction between different types as American labs do?

I have no idea how tall he is. There are different types of labs here too, but most of them are just pet-bred. There are a few good breeders of the show type, but none of the field type. The closest breeder of field type labs is in Hungary.

That's a good looking dog, Sonic is going to be impressive.

Johnnie is 86.8# tonight. Still slender and athletic. Just tall.

Sonic has turned 4 months old today! He is 26.5 pounds (12 kg). If this theory is right, he should be 53 pounds (24 kg) only which sounds unlikely, I think he'll be a few pounds more than that

Song turned 17 months (time flies!) on 12/30. I had him at the vets yesterday for some itchiness, and he weighed 73.8 pounds.
