    Loua got coal for Christmas...

    Loua got coal for Christmas!
Not only can Loua open doors, but the other day she locked Ursa and me out of the house. I had taken Loua for her walk, put her in the house, locked the door with a key and then took Ursa for her walk. When we came home and I unlocked the door with the key, bad Loua had slipped the door latch on and there we were, locked out. I had to steel saw the latch off through a narrow opening to break into my house.
    Oh Loua!

Then, sweet Ursa has another ear infection which we noticed on Friday night, after the vet clinics near us are all closed for the Holidays. This time when cleaning her ear with a kleenex, there was blood. We've been treating her with home remedies and the bleeding has stopped and the aural hematoma (from flapping her ears too much) on her other ear is shrinking. Bad timing! Phoning our vet on Wednesday morning for an appointment.

Loua wanted to make sure she was included in your list of Christmas memories for years to come.

Our Hershey used to have chronic ear infections until I learned to preempt them with a drop of ear drying product on every humid day as well as days with precipitation. That began a trend with every floppy eared dog to join the family and we never had an ear infection after that. (I held my breath with Sunnie, though, because Danny always had his tongue in her ears. Maybe because her ears were fly-away, she escaped having a problem from that constant moisture source.)

    Good luck with Ursa.

Oh Loua, you little devil. I am sure Santa forgave you and replaced that lump of coal with something yummy. Hope your ears are better soon.

Oh no Loua! Bad timing! (I thought they outgrow the mischievous phase by 3, now I am a bit nervous lol )

I am so sorry to hear that Ursa has another ear infection. Cookie was prone to them, and regular cleaning with EpiOtic especially during the hot and humid summer months helped prevent them.

Happy healing to Ursa. Macy always got stinky ear infections, too. And to Loua- way to keep everyone on their toes.
