For the first time after 3 years? He must have a gut of steel! If you recently changed the food, it may be the reason.

I like to think mine do not fart, and it is a rare occurrence, but my guess is they specialize in silent farting. Not even SBD, just S. I'd guess new food, too, if you recently changed brands.
New food would explain it.
I highly doubt that is his first fart, but probably the first audible one you've heard.
Bubba farted audibly for the first time recently. It was hilarious! He was very confused, alarmed, and suspicious of his butt afterwards.
Sunnie's butt whistles every now and then...Danny looks around like someone was trying to get his attention. Sunnie eyes her butt suspiciously. Thankfully neither dog has stinky room-clearing farts...the sounds and the dogs' reactions amuse me.
Sam audibly toots several times whenever he is trying to hold a sit on slippery floors. It's pretty funny, especially when I have guests. He just sits there smiling and pathetically begging for attention.
Linus doesn't fart much and when he does it isn't loud. He farts when he is stretching, getting down from the sofa. Often his butt is right in my face. :-/ Luckily it's not stinky, well, not that I know of. I pretty much turn away and hold my breath when any dog's butthole is that close to my nose and mouth.
Gosh I had to visit this topic just to see if some "breeder" had the audacity to comment about the eye watering farts that pregnant doggy moms can produce. How disappointing. But it is a pretty funny post!!!!

I just have to say that this thread has me laughing so hard! And the few times we've had an audible dog fart, the canine in question looks surprised...
