Why not focus on the incontinence while you are working with the secondary complications? I have had really good success treating urinary incontinence in dogs from a Chinese medicine perspective. Urinary incontinence is regarded as a kidney qi (energy) deficiency and by focusing on strengthening the kidney qi, using acupuncture and Chinese herbs, this will often stop. Not only does it stop the leakage but strengthens the kidney imbalance that most likely in time will create other problems (arthritis, hearing deficits, etc.). Might give it some thought.
