    Bump on bottom of paw

Last night I was out walking with Kain in the backyard and he started limping. I figured no biggie maybe he got one of those pokey pesky weed things in his paw. Upon inspection I found this little bump with a cut right down the middle. It clearly bothers him because he was limping and licking it. Last night I cleaned it up, put neosporin on it, and wrapped it up. It's a little better today but we walked a little bit and it bugged him. So I'm wondering what it is? He had a similar one in his paw pad on the top that also had a cut but that looks like its 99% healed up. I'm debating taking him to the vet. I figured I'd ask and see if anybody else has dealt with something like this before.

This is what it looks like, you can't really see the cut but its like a paper cut right down the bump.

    Here's another angle.

Poor pup. Might want to have it looked at in case there is something in there, i.e. thorn. Could also be a interdigital cyst.

    Sending healing thoughts.

I would definitely have the vet take a look at it! I hope he feels better soon!

    Update

I did take everyone's advice and called the vet. The office said his doctor was booked till Monday and that I could come in as an emergency patient or talk to a vet. I talked to the vet and told him how I was treating it with the Vetricyn spray, neosporin and using a wrap on it. He said that's pretty much what they'd do too, but to discontinue the neosporin. It looks after more investigation like a sore with raw skin. He's on light duty for the rest of the weekend. Hopefully it clears up.

Glad to hear you got to talk to a Vet. Sounds like you are with an excellent practice. I like the fact that I can call my vet for consultation. Or any questions I have and he'll always get back to me.

Hoping light duty this weekend will help and by Monday the sore spot shows big improvement.
