Do they whimper / cry when they're in heat?

It's never-ending here. China is in her 2nd week of heat. The bleeding has gone from rusty colored to bright red and thinning out almost watery. Yesterday she was whimpering a bit and tonight she's been doing it a lot. Not loud or non-stop or anything but is this normal? I also have started her on probiotics human until the dog robotics arrive) and read that it can cause loose stool and gas until it balances out their digestive tract. Her stools have been a bit looser and she does have a bit of gas.
Her surgery is 2 weeks away. Can't wait for it to be over.

Ive never experienced anything like that either. The vet confirmed she was in heat again, correct?

Yes the vet confirmed. You never experienced this --due to it not being normal or because your girls were spayed? I mean she's quiet now sleeping but is was quite a bit.
*by never ending I meant back and forth between these girls lately with issues, not the crying.

My first Basenji (never spayed) would whimper and appear restless when she was in heat. This was decades ago but I seem to remember that being less of a thing with Sandy as she got older...perhaps because she'd had two litters (at ages 2 and 5 if I remember correctly). Sandy was funny...she'd back up to the fence if other dogs came along (she wasn't left out alone, believe me, the little hussy).

Poor girl all of mine were spayed after the first heat, they we sorta depressed and a bit quiet and clingy but never cried.I have no idea if its normal and thats why i asked if the vet confirmed she was in heat again. Poor baby must be extra sensitive

I hope you and your girls catch a break soon.

Thanks, paws crossed that this is nothing else....this morning she did it again but really only a bit. When she does it if we pet her or call her to us she stops the whimper & comes to us. We were outside and Dakota was peeing to my right and China was on my left and she will go right in under Dakota to pee in her spot ( i read that females in heat will mark) but being on leash I kept her out of Dakota's way. She whimpered. As if to say 'come on let me go!' When Dakota was done and moved off, China slid in and peed on top of it.

I moved this from Senior Health to General Health (wrong forum!).

My girls haven't been particularly moody or anything during their heats. Tickle is finishing up her 3rd week now.

You may want to wait a month after the end of the heat to make sure everything is done. Heat cycles put extra blood in the uterus etc. I don't particularly think only 1 week after is enough time. But that's me.

Its what the vet said she wants to do...I asked her what to do if China is still bleeding and she said we need to get this done so she'd like to go ahead with it anyway, that its time to finally get this taken care of.

Sunnie wants to let you know that females not in heat also mark. (Danny and Sunnie mark over each other's all the time....Dog 1 pee on good spot, Dog 2 pee over that, Dog 1 re-pee on spot.)
