Sending healing mojo for Zach. When my dog had his splenectomy, he felt better immediately. He came home from the vet soooo much happier. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an uneventful recovery.

Thank you all. He just left for the hospital. I am hoping it all goes smoothly and he can have the surgery.

Hi all an update- Zach did very well during surgery. They were able to remove the spleen which was a good thing because the surgeon could tell it had definitely bled a few times (thankfully zach reabsorbed the bleed). The two masses on his liver were unable to be removed but they were able to take biopsy to determine what we are dealing with. Zach rested comfortably last night in the hospital on IV and pain meds. He is still there today- they lowered his pain meds. He's not feeling like eating what they have given him but I will be paying him a visit this evening with some food and hopefully he will eat. If not I think it's understandable considering he just had surgery for his appetite to be weak. Overall, the surgeon felt the surgery went well and Zach did very well. The next step is to meet with the oncologist once Zach has his staples out and the biopsy is back so we can move forward. They don't feel it's hemangiosarcoma but perhaps lymphoma that spread to his organs or hepatoular carcinoma- both of which they feel can be treated. I appreciate all the well wishes and prayers for Zach. I will update again once I visit him this evening.
