Yes I hope he can come home. It's so hard not to be with him during this difficult time. I hope he tries to eat this evening too- I don't know if it's the pain meds or his low red blood cells causing the diminished appetite but I just hope it resolves

tonight his temperature is back within normal range. apparently the transfusion he got this morning was just a small bag of blood, so he is currently getting a second transfusion. i hope tomorrow we will be able to take him home as long as they feel he is ready- he can rest on his bed instead of in a cage and he will have us all around to monitor him and entice him with yummy food to eat.

i am heartbroken for him- he probably wonders what he did wrong that all of this has happened to him. i just want my boy home.

I'm not sure dogs really do much self-reflection to determine why something has happened, "Let's see, I haven't pee'd on the new sofa, so that can't be it. I haven't destroyed any of the kids' toys, so not that either. I did bark at the neighbor's little runt of a dog, I wonder if that could be why they did this to me?" I'm sure he'll be much happier at home where his people are all around and the smells and sounds are familiar and comforting. I'm glad to hear his temperature is in the normal range and hope that he's home with you soon. Are the streets plowed well enough or will you need to see if the National Guard will provide transport? But sir, this IS an emergency!!!

Your poor boy...I know how you must feel.

Sending good thoughts and and prayers your way...that he will be home with you soon.

Sometimes a dog will eat better in their own familiar surroundings with the people they love.

Unfortunately over night at the hospital Zach's blood pressure dropped. They have him on dopamine hoping that it will stabilize and that when they wean him off he will not have another drop in blood pressure. His blood count is still low so we are also requesting another transfusion thinking maybe it will help both conditions
