sounds like the nerve is exposed.
We have a 5 month old lab puppy who has started to lose some of his puppy teeth. Today I noticed he lost his right canine and next to the empty space was a chipped tooth. The middle of the tooth is pink but not bleeding and i'm assuming this is the root. His appetite is normal and he's drinking water without any apparent sensitivity. I want to make sure he's not in pain, but becuase it's a puppy tooth, I don't want to rush to the vet to have it extracted if it's not entirely necessary. We give him elk antlers instead of raw hides and I believe he broke it while chewing on it.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Is it necessary to have it extracted if it's a puppy tooth and even though he doesnt appear to be in pain, should I assume he is?
sounds like the nerve is exposed.
A chipped puppy tooth is nothing to worry about.
