I've seen it in giant breeds, but not in labs. I don't think they are a problem considering dogs are shown with them.
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice here. I have a 2 year old chocolate lab, Aengus. He absolutley loves laying on hard, cool, floors. He doesn't just lay down, he plops down like a sack of bricks! He's developed a slightly bigger than a golfball sized hygroma. I've never dealt with this before and I'm at a loss at what to do for him. He won't wear the elbow pads, well because lets be honest, he's a lab and he loves to chew... he's got a cozy comfy bed he sleeps in every night but when I'm not home with him during the day, I can't stop him from plopping down on his elbows. He's in zero pain and is as happy as can be... I just want to help heal his swollen bows!! Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!
*He's also has X-rays to rule out any underlying injury. Everything looks good!

I've seen elbow protectors that dogs wear, not just padding held on by vet wrap, which you can buy or try to fashion. The company I have heard the most about is dogleggs, they're not cheap but you can get the idea.
