    That's great news! I wouldn't vaccinate. I haven't vaccinated Cookie since 2011.

Great news on the blood work. I just went thru a negative titer for distemper and contacted Jean Dodds who recommended revaccinating (2 of my vets also recommended it). I refused the dhpp from my vet and Jean told me where my vet can order just the distemper vaccine.

My vet uses Antech and the results do not come back with < or > 1:5 as they did in the past. Jean's response to that is "Because they changed the methodology from the IFA method I helped them develop to a faster ELISA screening test."

She also said "Antech result as the cut-off point for the new screening distemper titer seems to be set too high. Antech is aware of the issue. I’m getting many calls from vet clinics about this."

I vaccinated her and go back in a bit for another titer. I will have my vet draw the blood and send to Jean for more accurate titer results. (my girl is going to be 11 and always tested positive on past titers)

Something else I did at the suggestion of my vet since my girl is a senior and has not had a vaccine since her 1 year booster - is to give a benedril shot to prevent adverse reaction to the vaccine. They give the benedril and wait around 20 min. to give the vaccine. All was good.

Snowshoe or any one interested: I just got my results from Jean Dodds and my girl is good to go for titer for D/P They do both no matter what you want and the price is the same (as we are talking about distemper) I have tried to copy and past the results and it just will not work but I will tell you this

Parvo titer : greater than 1:80 VERY GOOD TITER LEVEL

Distemper titer: greater than 1:16 VERY GOOD TITER LEVEL

Hope you decide to just buy the one vaccine you need and get it done and not let your
vet give DHPP when not necessary.
