How far to another vet? Antibiotics aren't going to stop the dog from peeing blood. I wouldn't worry too much about the weight, vet scales are notoriously wrong from visit to visit. I don't know where in AZ you are, but I might be looking for a good ER vet for a trip today.

Actually no he was heaving before the meds.

And there's no emergency anything that anybody can do right now guys.... they have to rule out everything. Even diagnosing for the worst it is mandatory that they get a complete blood count done, rectal exam, inflammatory injection etc.

I understand you guys really care and want me to do the right thing for him. I do too!!!!!!!! This is the best thing I can do for my dog, and I need to just trust the doctor I have and continue to follow up.

Again thanks everyone for caring. <3 I will update if something changes.

    Update:
He hasn't peed any blood today, and still not acting like he's in pain at all. Just a little tired.

Could it have been severe bloody diarrhea as opposed to urine? Maybe he was straining so much it was bloody. Could he have eaten something that upset his stomach?

Actually no unfortunately. Not only did I very clearly see the blood coming directly out of his pee stream, the doctor also verified that there was a large quantity of blood in his urine.

This doctor is amazing and he is very intelligent. He is walking me through everything one step at a time because if I were to freak out and order all the tests for any possible theory, it would be way way too expensive. So we are just taking it one step at a time to rule out everything.

The doctor said it becomes an emergency if his behavior drastically changes or he cannot hold a steady stream of urine.

Also the antibiotics aren't for stopping the bleeding. We don't have a diagnosis yet. The antibiotics will help though regardless of what is wrong (he gave me a reason but I forgot.) as will the anti inflammatory shot.

He does not appear to be in pain, thank God.
