Well I'm glad that his mood is good and the blood in urine has subsided. Any time Jules was ill I always felt that his mood indicated how good/bad he felt. So I'm glad that your boy is acting ok so far.

Hey all! So sorry for not saying anything yesterday. I'm in the middle of moving and unpacking and my military separation so it's been crazy over here.

The doctor says his blood count came back normal. So it isn't the tick fever.

He says it's unusual for there to be so much blood and it not be causing him any pain (so, it isn't internal bleeding for trauma or anything of that sort..) and he now wants to rule out a prostate infection. So we are still on his antibiotics and when they are all out we will see the doctor again for another urinalysis. If there is no prostate infection or his urine comes back clean, he will either assume that it was just the prostate infection, or if it doesn't look like that then we will proceed to have x rays done.

With the x rays he will look for bladder stones and for tumors. He says it would be unusual for a stone to cause that much blood and not be obstructing his urination or causing him significant pain. So that's pretty low on the list but worth checking out. Then again seeing as he has no crystals in his urine it's pretty unlikely.

So basically we are treating him for whatever infection is going on down there, whether it's entirely from his prostate or is a result of a bladder tumor. He says tumors often do not cause pain or many symptoms and in this cause could be what is causing the bloody urine alone..

If it's tumors, that's a whole new can of worms and I'm praying it doesn't come to that...

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers and support. He is being babied and loved on and enjoyed. Annie our boxer has been grooming him a lot lately.

I will update if anything changes...

Continuing good thoughts heading your way for clear urine at the next check...great if the antibiotics were all it would take to get him back to normal.
