Be careful of hot surfaces during the summer

I usually practice our obedience routine in my large blacktop driveway. Most times we practice in the early AM, but today we couldn't until 2PM. I was bare footed & walked out to put up my cones ( for fig 8s) and couldn't believe how HOT the blacktop surface was. I'm am so glad that I did this before taking Abby out. She would have burned her pads. I never even thought how this could happen, it was only 80 degrees today. Our practices & walks will be limited to early AM during the summer heat.

Good reminder. Also being careful on walks where the path is paved and out in the sun all day.

Yep no outside time for mine at all during the summer unless its on grass or in water. It gets so hot here, the ground is still to hot to walk on even at 9-10 pm at night!
