    Suture burst capillary photos.

We had a panicky moment after Nikki's surgery when a capillary burst so I thought it might be good to post a photo series to show what happened. It was OK because there was no discharge, heat, swelling or redness around the incision. But the burst capillary itself looked fairly alarming. These are from the day we brought her home then two days later when the capillary burst to today. You can just see the blood getting reabsorbed.

That would scare me to death if I did not know what is going on and that the problem would resolve itself.

Scary looking indeed. Glad it was only a capillary and is resolving by itself needing no intervention.

Potion had one after a complicated spay. The morning after surgery got up to her dripping blood. Rushed to the E-vet where they put on a compression bandage and kept an eye on her for the day. By that evening she was ready to come home with very limited activity. She did not get the bruising because her bleeding was external but just as scary.

Sending healing prayers and gentle hugs.

Poor girl. Would it tender like a bruise? Which I guess it is. More tender than she would be anyway after that surgery?

She didn't have a reaction when we felt it for heat. But she only had trouble lying down on the incision the first day. She was fine after that.
