    Lesson learned on my end. Tonka is almost 18 months and has never went on a garbage ransack like this. From now on I will be using a different garbage he cannot access.

    This could have been so much worse!!

    My mom's neighbors' lab ate just one tampon a few years ago and required surgery, so yes, it is definitely an emergency.
    Keep hydrogen peroxide on hand if this ever happens again! (note, you want to take them outside to administer and await the "presentation" of offending product). Anne

    With dogs, the only way is a covered can. I have one in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. And I've been doing it this way for a really long time. Glad it ended well for you!

    We had this happen many years ago with Dana. Hydrogen peroxide brought up the bloody mess. And we bought a garbage can with a lid on it. Lesson learned...
