Do you mix water into his food? That's usually what I do when I want them to get more water. It's possible they don't drink as much if they're getting more in their food but it makes me feel better!
This waiting game sucks! Nancy0 it was 3 weeks?? Wow. Asher's poop is much smaller but still a good size. Before his poop was very big (surprisingly big for a pup). He did burp pretty loud this morning but no vomit. I want to try and get him to drink more water but I'm not succeeding. He's never been one to drink a lot. I tried a touch of honey but that didn't get any reaction. I just think more water will move things faster or should I just let things be? He's certainly not lacking energy. I go back to work tomorrow. I'm sure the pet sitter can come in a few times to make certain he hasn't thrown up any.

I'm going to check in with the vet around 3pm today. On Friday, the vet said I would need to do follow up x-rays after 48 hours if he doesn't get it out. He just had his 2nd poop of the day and still no toy! :-( I'll likely need to bring him in today to do that.
And yes, I'm mixing in a little water with his wet. I should just probably leave it at that. He's being himself so I'm just happy with that.
Oh, poop watches are so stressful! C'mon, Asher, poop that toy out!

Went to the vet. New x-rays showed a clearly defined mass in his belly. Vet said it was too dense to be food...in his opinion. The x-rays on Friday didn't clearly show it. The emergency vet today said the new x-rays showed the toy in his belly if he assumption was correct. He suggested we try to induce vomiting....and GUESS WHAT???? IT WORKED! Oh my goodness relieved is an understatement. I heard the girls in the back scream and applaud -- my heart jumped because I thought -- it was him! And sure enough, Dr. James stuck his head in the door and gave me a thumbs up. I almost jumped up and hugged him. The boy is in his crate sleeping now. The meds knocked him out. Wow. This has been an experience. Thanks for all the good thoughts and advice. Love this forum! :-) He showed me the toy....and wow, I'm just thankful it's out of his belly!!!! I will sleep so good tonight.

YAY so glad he threw it up. Hooray what a relief, huh? When charlie was going through this the er vet thought the squeaker sat in his stomach for 3 weeks before going through the intestine when it became obstructed. Soooo you did good bringing him to the er and having them induce vomiting. I remember telling the er surgeon that my vet couldn't get charlie to vomit. The er vet said you bring him to me if you ever suspect something like this again. We will get him to vomit lol.
Great news!!! Though charlie did fine with the surgery I don't wish it on anyone (or their pocketbook lol)

Oh hooray! I've been checking to see if you'd post a follow up and I'm so very glad it is out! Sounds like you ALL will sleep well tonight! OK, maybe Samson will have his regular night's sleep since he was just doin' his own thing! Yay for you all!!!

Yes, so happy I took the boy back in. Asher is still woozy but wow, I didn't imagine this outcome. In my mind it was stuck in his intestines. Ha, Samson was annoyed with my tossing and turning as well as me getting up turning on the light to check Asher and to make sure he didn't vomit. We are back to normal..... Minus all cat toys.
