I've told this story here a few times. About 20 years ago, my 10 year old Black Lab, Clancy, chewed up a brand new pair of summer motorcycle gloves. I found him actively chewing one of them, and could not find the other one. I waited, and waited. Nothing. He was completely normal, so I figured the other glove was just missing. Four months later he barfs up the missing glove. I swear he had a cast iron stomach!

    Glad Asher is ok!!

    Four months! wow.

I had a foster snag half a sandwhich wrapped in plastic that was beside me so fast I honestly looked for it for awhile before determining he must have eaten it. It was at least two weeks before the bag came back out! (and yes the foster was a lab haha! I got lazy as Rocky would never steal something from right beside me, he waits til I leave!)

Glad everything turned out ok. Jules ate some weird things back in his days. He was good at vomiting though. One time, my mom let him eat her very thick leather shoe (reason #1 I don't leave my dog with my parents alone anymore). I come home and see a HUGE leather chunk missing from her shoe. "Mom, what happened to your shoe?" She answers, "Oh, they were old and Jules wanted to chew them. So I just let him eat it." :-O An our later he threw up a completely undigested piece of leather. WTF is wrong with my parents?!

Linus gulps socks. You know those fluffy socks, sometimes with the grip on the bottom? He even gulps those if given the opportunity. I don't know when he does it and have never seen him do it. However, he has puked up three socks and one small plush toy (no stuffing) in the last two years and my guess is that they sat in there for weeks. I'm kinda glad I don't know when he does it because that means unnecessary surgery. He shows no signs at all, just one day he barfs and there it is. Doesn't miss a beat. Since it's obviously a habit, I am meticulous with socks now and have put away anything sock-sized. He does it when stressed (working longer days than usual). When I am working more than usual I bring in a dog walker.

Oh wow, I'd be a nervous wreck!! I make sure my socks are all picked up. Samson just had a thing for hair scrunchies so I got ride of all of those. I do have to go outside with him each time because he eats sticks....big sticks and he gulps them. Drives me crazy!! This past weekend was a pretty traumatic experience for me...for him - he didn't miss a step! I sure hope it never happens again. But I know....labs will be labs.

Linus would dig in my bed for socks that I took off in the middle of the night in winter. Stopped doing that. I have no idea when or how he got the others because I don't leave clothes on the floor and I live alone. Could have been that I dropped one on the way to/from the laundry or maybe took off my clothes to shower and he stole them then, before I had a chance to put them away. No clue!

Maybe he's in cahoots with the "sock eating dryer".

That is funny but scary at the same time. It's just me and all the fur kids as well. I'll occasionally hang my shirt on a door knob and they like to pull the shirt off and drag around. Thankfully they eat it that! Or maybe they could based on what I'm hearing!! lol I'm being overly paranoid right now because each time I see Asher nosing around on the floor I panic. I'm sure that will wear off soon. My insurance came in handy.....The two visits cost 610 bucks. I paid my 250 deductible and they covered 90% (minus the consult charges). I have Healthy Paws. I know there is another thread on insurance so I thought I'd mention the help insurance had with this. Healthy Paws (on a Sunday) actually processed both invoices while I was sitting in the vet er room waiting for Asher to wake up! That med to induce vomit totally knocked the poor guy out.
