    Question Ruger my new puppy has a teeny tear on the bottom of his ear :( idk how he did it

    will this heal? its tiny like a teeny split/cut on the edge of it ? :/

    I'd put some Neosporin on it (or any vet wound ointment you might have) and just watch it. Since you don't know how it happened, it could keep happening if it's from something he continues to do or come in contact with (I'd try to figure out what caused it).

    It might not heal together but if it's tiny enough his hair will probably cover it when he's older.

    Just saw your other post...you think maybe Remington had something to do with that?

    I'd keep them both on a leash for now and think about getting a trainer involved for some on-site help.

    Is it bleeding or is it that flap that they all have? If bleeding, you should probably have the vet super glue it as they otherwise don't heel well on their own.

    I would get it looked at if it happened recently. I've had two dogs who required ear surgeries and because the ears are on the move so much, flapping, scratching, playing, etc, it's always difficult for them to heal. I would think it a big risk with the ear that a small tear could get larger if its a new wound that's not properly looked at.
