    Turmeric/curcumin side effect caution

I've noticed a few people on here recommend turmeric for various ailments for dogs, I'm thinking arthritis but I don't really recall. Anyway, I saw the following article about a human who took turmeric as a supplement to ill effect. Just thought anyone who is taking turmeric themselves or giving it to their dogs should be sure to know about it.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know. I make turmeric paste for Cookie, no issues, but he is not on anticoagulant medication.

I second the warning. I spent part of my professional life working the field of HIV/AIDS, in the early days when there were very few 'traditional' medications to treat the virus. Many individuals were taking St. John's Wort and when medications were finally discovered it was found that the St. John's Wort was decreasing the blood level of the protease inhibitors. It was a simple pharmacokinetic interaction but was critical because the development of resistance was a death sentence at the time.

I tried doing the golden paste, but I think I did something wrong or gave too much of it. Now I just add about a table spoon of turmeric to the homemade dog food I make. I don't know if it helps or not. Grace, who has been a bit stubborn about eating, likes the stuff I make, but she's also getting CBD oil too.

What happened and how much did you give? I give half of a tea spoon.

I used to make this for Dakota and Montana before he passed. I stopped giving it to Dakota because it seems she has seizures when i give it to her. This I didn't discover until I got China who started alerting us to Dakota's seizures. I stopped giving it to her and she's had only 1 since...

JenC.... Hi! I'm thinking of ordering cbd oil from Petreleaf for our dog who has arthritis in his back legs. What do you give it to your dog for? and does it seem to work?

We get the 300 mg Pet Releaf CBD oil. We give it for epilepsy. It's really pretty safe, so it's worth trying.

I used to drink tumeric in water. Till I ran into a clotting issue. I was also taking un processed raw ground up tumeric .

Anyway google brought up the clotting issue .
