I'm also surprised. Her values are better than mine.

Maybe try baby food or cat food. From what I've read many dogs with poor appetite may eat those.

I called the holistic vet to tell the blood test results. He couldn't say much. He suggested me to continue with acupuncture. He said she might have pain due to spondylosis and not eating because of this. Said me to give her turmeric and another anti inflammatory.
I would give her Rimadyl if she eats.
He said this might be temporary.
I'm confused as always. Wish I was a vet.
These are from yesterday and today.

Cerenia is a medication used as anti-nausea. It worked wonders for Dan when he had to be on metronidazole and it made him not want to eat. Nausea is a common side effect of anti-inflammatories...also of turmeric.

I still think the physical issue is from the type of acupuncture. The nausea is most likely from the herbs.

Poor sweet girl...I hate to think that she feels so nauseated and awful.

Just seeing this and sending lots of Mojo. About all I can do.

One thing to think about, this is exactly how my sisters lab acted after stem cell therapy. It wasn't the therapy itself but from an infection from the needles used as an IV. The needle were new and sterilized but they thing there was some bacteria on the skin of something that got pushed in. So maybe the acupuncture caused a secondary infection. This was really hard for them to find what was actually wrong. They knew he went downhill shortly after the stem cell therapy but they thought it was his body reacting to that. Instead it was just a secondary infection cause by the needles. Something to think about.

Yes, but what still baffles me is that her bloodwork is normal. If her body was fighting an infection, the white blood cell count would be elevated, right?

Oya, I really hope she perks up soon. She looks so sad. Sending lots of mojo.

Yeah you would think so. But sometimes infections can be really weird and the herbs could be masking something. The behavior sounds exactly though like my sisters lab and it took 3 vets until they took him to a specialist to figure it out.

Her body temperature and WBC count is normal so I would also think that she cannot have infection. But I'll think about it once more. Body is a strange thing. Thanks for letting me know this possibility.
