    Vomiting and more vomiting...

Something is up with my boy
I woke up this morning to two big piles of undigested food that Cooper had thrown up on the floor of my daughter's room. He has continued to throw up throughout the day, mostly white mucous and foamy vomit (he was home with my son all day and he said he has been sick 5 times throughout the day) . He isn't able to keep water down, although he appears to want to drink...alot. Both my kids describe him as being "off" ...my daughter said he didn't get up to greet her when she got home from work, he just laid on the floor. I just got home from work myself, he didn't get up to greet me either, but did eventually get up and walk around and follow me for a few minutes. He has had 4 poops today (more than he normally would) and they are all formed and normal looking. We just brought him home form the kennel Sunday night, he had been there a week while we were away on a family vacation. He was fine at the kennel, no vomiting and he has been at this kennel before, at least once a year. We are off to the Vet for 6pm...good thoughts appreciated.

Good luck! I'd be concerned about an obstruction because he seems hungry or thirsty but cannot keep it down. I've had dogs with obstruction before though, so that's what I always think of first. I hope he feels better soon.

The vet doesn't think Cooper has an obstruction, but feels it is a gastritis. Cooper had a low grade temperature and some tenderness in his stomach area. He is resting his tummy for 12 hours and then Cooper will start a bland diet, small frequent meals. He is also on an anti-emetic. The vet instructed me to bring him back if he vomits while taking the medication. He was dry heaving just before bed, but didn't get sick and he didn't vomit overnight. Here's hoping for a vomit free day!! Thanks for the good thought xo

White foam always makes me think of kennel cough.
