You mentioned that she's in the ER. Is she "OK"?
Snowshoe (10-31-2017)
I believe she had a series of grand mal seizures and spent a few nights there. I think she is home now with some different meds and different doses.

Thanks, I hadn't visited over here yet. Yes, Wrigley has epilepsy, diagnosed in June, though started with Grand Mal seizures back in February. She started have a cluster Friday night. By the time we opted to take her to the ER on Sunday, she had had 13 and they were coming about 1 hour apart. It was manageable but we were scared that they would start coming quicker, which is BAD. So she was in for close to 2 days. Had a few small ones there. Fortunately our neurologist has his office in that building so she got HIS care. We upped doses of her Phenobarbital and Keppra and added in a 3rd called Zonisamide. So she's pretty doped up. We've had minimal luck at control, just a horrible genetic fluke. I got her home last night. She's OK, super super tired, little goofy walking around, which is partly the increased meds and partly the brain function just returning. She slept soundly 5-6 hours, NO MOVEMENT last night.
We're just trying to get some control to allow some quality of life. Her good days are great, but if we have a week a month of bad days, it's not good. We're not the type of people to do the MRI's and spinal taps, and possibly brain surgery etc. The doctor is pretty sure it's idiopathic epilepsy, meaning it was genetic/hereditary (her breeder knows, though has never experienced anything like this before) but it was probably more of a congenital issue.
So we are kind of bummed about all this. We've never dealt with any of the hopeless things like cancer and such. She's TWO! It's pretty hard to think about.

Prayers to you all.
sending good thoughts
My friend's border collie had quite a few seizures for awhile, it took them a year to find the right "cocktail" of dogs. It was rough, she said the drugs to affect his personality but that he has a quality of life (he is 3ish now). For awhile they had to help him go to potty as he had no balance.
Hoping you find the right mix of drugs to help Wriggley

Oh, geez, Jen...I had no idea things had gotten worse. I knew she'd had some in the past but also know that you're up on food-related ways to approach seizures and thought you'd gotten them under control. I'm really sorry to hear that your pretty girl is having such a hard time of things (you, too...seizures are no picnic to deal with).
All good thoughts headed your way that you'll be able to get Wrigley stabilized.
Hate to hear this about Wrigley. I too thought you had it under control, but now sounds like it might be a long, on going concern.
Sending our BEST lab board MOJO and prayers for that pretty girl and you.
Sorry to read that Wrigley isn't doing so well .
Having watched Ursa go through clusters of grandmals is horrible, so I can feel your worry and heartache, Jen.
I know that you're more on the side of traditional treatment, but here's some simple info on Belladonna, and others, which we use for break-through/focal seizures with Ursa:
Belladonna
Another remedy where suddenness is a feature, together with the violence of the convulsions. There is great sensitivity during the fit, and the slightest external stimulus will keep it going. The attack usually involves a single fit rather than a cluster.

Wishing Wrigley all the best!!
Jen...
Do you know about the controlled study they are conducting at the Colorado State University School of Vet Med? Efficacy of Cannabidiol for the Treatment of Epilepsy in Dogs
They are studying the effect of canabadiol for treatment of epilepsy. We have a pediatric neurologist here in Reno who has found it useful for intractable epilepsy in children. His results are anecdotal, of course. So it is good to see that they are trying to get some data in an animal model of epilepsy in a well designed double blind study.
Also there is a study going on at the National Institutes of Health. Canine Epilepsy Research
I am so sorry you are having this problem. I have a friend with a super field bred Lab who is a Master Hunter and has actually qualified to run the Master National. But he began having seizures at age 4.
Maybe you could participate in studies, or God willing benefit from the results of the studies when they are published.
Stay strong.
