    and Archie is limping

I am really really trying not to freak out. I'm hyper sensitive to any limping because of Jules (he had elbow dysplasia that was discovered too late and it very negatively effected his life starting at 4 yrs old). I don't know what Archie did to himself. He leaps off stairs and sofa. He didn't do any running around outside yesterday because it rained all day but usually we go out in the yard where he runs full force for a bit.

I noticed it last night. He was falling asleep on the floor. When he got up to move he was limping. It's not any better today. Now, I'm just wondering how long do I wait to take him to the vet. And do I just go straight to a specialist because I don't want to waste my time? Ugh! I don't even care how much it'll cost (I have dog insurance). He's still happy-go-lucky. Still wants to play. Ate well. Went outside for potty. But I see him shifting his weight and sometimes picks up his rear left leg. I looked at his paw and didin't see anything. I moved his leg around and not much reaction. Maybe he just pulled something and needs a couple quiet days? Thoughts? Really really trying not to freak out.

If he’s putting weight on it, I would keep him quiet for a few days and if there’s no improvement then take him in then.

I got paranoid and made an appt with a specialist for tomorrow I never have confidence in general veterinarians to diagnose these problems accurately. Blah. I hope it's nothing serious and he just over did it or something.

Ugh. He's been doing worse. Actually hopping on three legs at times. Glad i scheduled that appointment for tomorrow. And on top of that he's been compulsively licking his feet. Glad i got that insurance!

ah man, that sucks. sending good thoughts. For limps (they happened often with Penny though mostly due to paw pad issues) I'd do crate rest for 7-10 days then see if it improves but no harm in going in earlier.

Lately I generally lean more towards going straight to a specialist as well, unless I know my vet happens to be well versed in whatever the issue may be.
