Ibuprofen killed a (singleton Toller) puppy I raised with one of my litters, after she went home with her family. She was only 4 months old and she died in the ER several hours after ingestion. I was heartbroken. Ibuprofen is deadly.
So sorry this happened. While not ibuprofen, Potion was given Rimadyl after a surgery and her follow up liver tests came back very elevated. Our vet did not prescribe prednisone. Instead, she recommended Hepagen C (milk thistle) and wild salmon oil to help support liver function. It took a good three months before her liver values started coming back to normal but when they did, boy they normalized fast.

Yukon had an acute reaction to Rimadyl fall 2016. His ALT spiked to almost 3000 (a marked 20 fold increase). He was put on Denamarin for a few months and his counts came back to normal after a couple of blood tests. It did not go up again, which is the issue you are having.
It certainly seems like you addressed the ibuprofen issue quickly. I would go back on Denamarin, possibly long term. It would only help and not hurt anything (except your wallet).
Did you end up having the ultrasound? I know they like to do that and possibly a liver biopsy if things aren't changing.
Did you have bloodwork done prior to the ibuprofen incident and if so, when was that and the result? This could point to or possibly eliminate the ibuprofen as the culprit.
I hope you can find more specifics and a remedy to this situation.

We did have an ultrasound done after the incident after our 2nd opinion. They ruled out some major issues with that and that's when she started referring to it as "active chronic hepatitis". When we dropped him off that day, an ultrasound and biopsy were planned but they decided a biopsy was not needed with what was found on the ultrasound. His last blood work was done about a year before and everything seemed to be normal then. Regardless, we are going to get him back on Prednisone for a bit along with the Denamarin for as long as needed until the liver is able to regenerate in its own. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the price of the Denamarin on a regular basis, but it's what we need to do.
Our vet only had it marked up $15 from the cheapest I could find it for online. I’ll buy it online in the future, just wanted it quicker so went through the vet this time.
