Ugh, so young . Sad times for you and Toohey.

I got this email the other day: Medicinal Mushrooms For Cancer In Dogs
A lady on this board named Beth, had her girl-lab Lucy on medicinal mushrooms and homeopathies for years and Lucy did amazingly well. Perhaps PM her a message: LucyTudeOn4Feet https://www.lab-retriever.net/board/members/lucytudeon4feet/
If/when necessary, we'll be using homeopathy and medicinal mushrooms as well. Been there, done that with Chemo.

Wishing Toohey and you all the best!

Just catching up here....I will keep your dear sweet Toohey in my thoughts and prayers...

It's just not fair....so very young with so much life ahead of him. Such a beautiful boy.

I often wonder, how does this happen?

Labs have such strong wills, I hope and pray you will have more quality time with him...

Hello all. I hadn't posted in a while on this site, but we switched Toohey over to CCNU protocal as it was a-typical T-Cell lymphoma. He was doing really well. High energy and loving life. Toohey lost his fight today. After coming out of remission 2 previous times, this time the cancer came back with a vengence. Yesterday Toohey felt great, had some soft stool and some diarrhea, today, Toohey had diarhea but was otherwise happy. When it came time for breakfast, he turned it down (which was the OH NO sign both the other times). He went outside and played with me and my daughter. An hour later he was laying in the kitchen shivering. I took him in and the vet said we could try a rescue protocal but it would maybe make him comfortable for a week. We elected to finally let him go. We had an at home euthanasia service come by this afternoon. Toohey was with his brothers Buddy and Disco and his mom and dad hugging him and telling him he was a good boy as he drifted to sleep one last time. After his diagnosis, we got a few trips to the beach, a fishing trip on the west coast, a really good last 2 weekends of duck season before Toohey crossed the rainbow bridge. Toohey got to see his second little sister Ellinor come into the word on April 15. I'm heartbroken at my own loss as Toohey was the beginning of my family, sad that I'll won't say "Toohey Birdie" next duck seasonat how young and full of life Toohey was, and also the loss of a blossoming friendship between Toohey and my oldest daughter Anja. She just turned two and they have gotten really close the last year. I'm happy you're no longer suffering Toohey. Thanks for hanging on for so long and bringing so much joy to our lives. We love you and we'll miss you. I'll remember you as in these photos taken just this morning.... happy.. laying in the grass with your goose. Goodbye my boy-dog.-c9cf1ff1-3fb6-47e2-a67a-dbde54c950eb-jpg

I'm glad you were able to have some more good times with Toohey...not nearly enough but ones you all enjoyed. Your boy knew he was loved and would always be safe with you.

I'm so sorry his life was this short...but it was a high quality life.

    Rest in Peace, Toohey....Run Free...
