    BATH time!

I have a 7 month old black lab mix. I am trying to decide what type of shampoo to use when bathing her. With her husky fur-brother, we use a furminator de-shedding shampoo, but I know that is not necessary for my lab. What do you use? I am thinking of trying the Burt’s Bees puppy shampoo.

I used Burt's puppy shampoo on Asher. No problems at all with skin irritation.

I rarely actually bathe mine. At the end of a beach vacay I will use shampoo but usually I just rinse with plain water. The shampoo I currently have is Earthbath, either the Sweet Orange or the Mango Tango. Since I bathe with shampoo so infrequently, I haven't had any issue with it drying the fur or skin. I pretty much get the scent I like since anything I use seems to work fine. I don't know how much huskies shed compared to labs but mine shed pretty much all the time and really bad probably twice a year.

    BATH time!

I think i bathed my lab like once a year if that! A swim in the lake does wonders. Ha!

We use plain lukewarm water in the shower with the pulsating shower-head. The girls love the pulsating.

I do bathe twice a year during shedding season. Helps to get rid of the loose undercoat and he smells nice... for a day. I do use more expensive shampoos but they last for years.

Like Berna, twice a year only during shed to help release the undercoat. I use a Zoom Groom in the bath and afterwards. Been using Earth Bath. For muddy dogs, a quick rinse with the hose. Too much bathing strips the natural oils labs are supposed to have.

We like Earthbath ... they only rarely get baths though as regular swimming keeps them pretty clean. It’s mostly (especially Chloe) when they roll in something disgusting.
