    Medical Insurance

    Time to renew Rocky's,
Been a while since it came up here,
Do you like your company? Why?
Not had any claims here, I just compare rates on the internet.

Healthy Paws Insurance. Love them because they have never denied a claim in 5 years. Filing claims is a piece of cake and they turn them around very quick. Both my boys had insurance coverage at 10 weeks so I have never had any preexisting issues. My 14 month old Asher was just diagnosed with elbow dysplasia and he's fully covered. My 5 yr old Samson had TTA in July of 16 and it was fully covered. His therapy is covered as well. I take him swimming weekly. I have 80%/250 on Samson and 90%/250 on Asher. Asher swallowed a toy over the summer and x-rays and emergency visits cost over 900 bucks. Saved me there! Samson got sick in May and had x-rays and then he decided to eat something toxic and had to take him to another emergency visit in August. Wow, how do you get away with no claims. LOL

Sophie is with PetPlan and Brooks is with Healthy Paws. Health Paws was much less expensive with better coverage when I went to sign him up. Niether dog has ever had a claim (knock on wood). The only claim I've made was the death benefit when Bruce passed away, and that was with Healthy Paws.

I got Embrace insurance about 18 months ago when I went on an extended vacation to Europe and felt a little paranoid. My dogs were three and six. Prior to that, no insurance and there was one thing that I could have had a claim on, but it would not have even been worth it ($750 lump removal).

I've recently done my first claim with Sam's SIBO and they have been great to work with. Claims are turned around within three days or less. Because I went a year without claims, I received a $50 healthy pet credit, bringing my deductible down to $450 and they reimburse me 80% after that and prescriptions are included, with the exception of prescription food. I pay $41 per month through my bank (USAA).

In the 26 months we've been together there's been a couple close calls, e.g. the car that drove over him at 4 months old,
he ran away without a scratch and i didn't have to go to jail for beating that teenager to death. There is a God.
Then there was the lesson of thin ice on the pond.

    Appreciate the feedback.
I currently have PetPlan, going to roll the numbers but it appears they'll win again.

We love our Petsecure Ins. Co. Canada, but they don't like us too much...we cost them money with our claims. They've penalized Opal for having too many claims, grrrrrrrrrr! But we still love them.

I know this may sound odd but ask your vet. I have sold a few pups to vets and feel they would give me the straight shot.
