I have two labs. An almost 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. Both males. Both intact. Both 95 pounds. One has a massive head/neck/shoulders. The other has a lot of lean muscle. Maverick grew until he was about 3. Bear is still growing as well. It depends on the dog and their lines as to how much they grow after 6 months.

Good luck with Beau's snip-snip surgery. He's only 6 months old and no one knows for sure how big he'll be as an adult, but neutering and spaying does not stunt their growth.

It doesn’t stunt it, but it can affect it because the hormones determine when the growth plates on the long bones close, so dogs that have been neutered before puberty often end up taller and leggier than those that are left intact until they fully mature. Also it’s been found that there is an increase in knee injuries in these dogs - because the angle of the bones have changed. Males neutered early also don’t always get that nice big broad Labrador head. Of course, it depends on the breeding as well, but studies have been done on the effects of early neutering. Personally, unless I had a compelling reason to, I would let my dog fully mature before contemplating neutering ... but doing so also requires being vigilant that he can’t roam the neighborhood impregnating other dogs.

Yes, as you saw in the articles links posted above. As for roaming the neighbourhood, a good owner isn't going to let any dog roam for fear of being hit by a car. I'm on a couple of lost pet FB groups and it seems to me just as many neutered males and females (they mostly seem to be spayed) as intact males are posted lost or found.
