    Mojo for Hemi

Not sure what is wrong, off to vet in an hour. He is obviously in some pain.

So last night, we went swimming in the pool, had a great time, until it started to cloud up and rain. We got out, I hosed him off, much to his delight running around the yard. Then dried him off, which is always a chore as he love to fight with the towel, which last night was no exception. We then had supper and then I needed to go go to the grocery. So I left him home and went to the grocery and came home. I sat down in my chair to watch TV and Hemi came over and jumped in my lap, which is common as well he likes a little snuggle and to be a lap dog. However I told him to get down as I forgot to take out the garbage for trash day today. So I got back up went and took out the trash and came back in and sat down. Told him ok now you can come up. He couldn't. He wanted to, but he couldn't I could tell he was in some pain. Finally he just gently put his paws up and then snuggled up. I lifted him the rest of the way and he curled up. When he went to get down, he got down and then froze like, oh that hurt. He then slowly went to his bed and laid down where he stayed until we went to bed. Going out to go to the bathroom and so on he was slow and only taking one step at a time and not his normal 2 to 3. When we went to bed, he did jump in bed despite my protests he not, he then curled up next to me and went to sleep. Sometime in the middle of the night he got up and was going to get off the bed, but he couldn't he just sat there on the end of the bed. So I got up and lifted him down. He went to his bed and curled up, I started to go back to sleep and he jumped back in bed with me again and curled up. There he slept all night, not moving much. I helped him out of bed this morning. Same thing going out to the bathroom. So called the vet got the earliest appointment they had. I wouldn't let him up on the bed or anything. He had improved this morning but you could tell he was still in some pain.

I am guessing maybe he just tweaked his back or something, maybe some muscle spasms. At least I am hoping that is it.

Tweak was the first thing that came to my mind, too....after "oh, no, not Hemi" when I saw your subject line.

All good thoughts headed your way. Let us know what the vet says.

Good Luck. Grizz has something like that with his back. We went to a lab fest last summer and he horsed around in the baby pools for most of the day and ended up with a sore back. And the last few times I have taken him swimming, the same. We have some muscle relaxers for when that happens now. The xray didn't even show any arthritis in his back, so it's just all muscles.

Hope they figure it out for Hemi.
