Just seeing this, sending lots of tummy calming Mojo. Diarrhea is definitely no fun for all involved.
We'll be picking up a prescription for Panacur as soon as one of the vets eyeballs my request...and they're starting the poop test.
Bob's going to be picking up another couple jugs of Clorox this morning...gonna have a polka-dotted lawn.

Oh poor Danny. I hope you get this cleared up soon. Good thoughts for sweet Dan.

Better? Update? Diarrhoea can really sap their strength.

I HAVE THE BEST DOG!!!
Just after giving the Panacur yesterday early afternoon, he had a Dairy Queen. Yaaaayyyyy (not my normal reaction to a DQ, ya know?). A while later, he had a soft/formed. Double yaaaayyyyyyy. Not sure either one could have had anything to do with the Panacur...too soon.
He'd had a Cerenia about an hour after the Panacur (24 hours after the shot of Cerenia the vet had given him)….appetite good and drinking water.
Obviously, he'd been drinking a lot of water (or my husband didn't stay up as late as he usually does...don't get me started on dogs' bodies not being robots) because he peed like a madman this morning. We went out before I'd finished all of the doggy maintenance things I normally do. Good thing.
His poop for me this morning (courtesy of the Panacur this time, I'm sure) started out as soft/form, progressed to DQ, and ended up as massive amounts of blood-tinged mucous. I'm sure he felt better after that. I woke Bob up to tell him that he needed to pay attention to Dan while I was gone (in his room at this point) and if he hadn't needed to go out before I got back home, to take him out at that time regardless of Dan's interest. When I got back...only about 45 minutes later....I retrieved Sunnie from Bob's room and told Bob to take Dan out (for the most part, Dan likes to bond with Bob over poop trips and is more willing to go out with him during the day when only our own property is involved). Left the door open.
I get home to the smell of poop and Bob not reacting to it at all. Yes, he'd eventually gotten out of bed, but not soon enough. And gosh forbid he recognize the smell in the air and investigate. He took Dan out and Dan had a "really small" DQ and peed. Well, that was a really small DQ because there was a big pile of more-liquidy-than-DQ in the basement.
The GOOD DOG part?
Dan aimed for the middle of one of the rubber jigsaw puzzle-type floor covering pieces that we have in the basement...and near the door. He avoided the fabric mats and the seams between pieces. It was easy for BOB to clean up/disinfect that one square and leave to dry out on the deck.
He ate his second small breakfast and just had a DQ with Bob.
We're heading in the right direction and I LOVE THIS DOG!!!
Nancy, he also wanted to play with a stuffie before I fed them...so the energy/enthusiasm is coming back.

double post when I edited....poltergeist, no doubt...
Ugh...yeah....he feels better but the Panacur (I assume) has him rushing for the basement door even with being taken out about every 1/2-hour or so. (Of course, we're limiting him to the front lawn on grass and not the back where he's used to going on gravel.) Hmmm...I see where the cerenia can also cause diarrhea. I hope he at least won't need more of that.
Gonna be a long night.
He's on his bed next to me right now and I'm typing to the accompaniment of serious stomach gurgling.
Niner has a tough time with panacur too. Have no idea why none of my other dogs do. Unfortunately for Niner after a round of Panacur it takes him 2 weeks to get back to normal poop. Hope it's not that long for Dan, but it sounds like he's feeling better so that is great news!
