Oh I am glad I saw a good update in the thread. Good thoughts for Danny, hoping it was the taurine or a quickie stomach bug

Major mojo sent, now. Now Dan, don't you yelp when it gets there.

Nancy, he's on NutriSource Prairie Select...quail/duck as the primary protein source.

And I now suspect giardia or some such. The vet took a fecal sample yesterday but was going to hold off on processing it until we saw what Dan's subsequent symptoms were after we got him to eat something.

Good news: he's eating and, so far, no more vomiting. [Silly dog prefers his kibble to the roast beef I picked up in case I needed to tempt him. Sunnie's happy!]

Bad news: horrible diarrhea. Twice during the afternoon/early evening yesterday. Once on the foyer rug (uck...water hog runner, miserable to get clean and will have major light spots from bleach because I suspect giardia). Once this morning after breakfast. Horrible lingering diarrhea. And he's still pretty subdued.

They open at 7...I'll be on the phone, telling them to run the fecal FAST. [the usual med for giardia is metronidazole, which he can't tolerate...hope there's something else in their bag of tricks...I'm thinking Panacur]

Horrible diarrhea is pretty darn horrible. Maybe Danny knew he needed to fast himself for a few meals. I'm sorry his troubles haven't, um, passed yet. I know you'll be glad to have them behind him. I hope the treatment isn't worse than the illness.
