Annie has a slab fracture of her left carnassial tooth. Not sure how long it’s been fractured. I can’t post picture from my phone. Is an urgent vet visit needed for this?
I would definitely have your Vet look at it.
Vet. That could easily be very painful.
She still eats, chews, no signs or SXs of pain or abscess. I have a vet appt for her tomorrow morning.
I didn't realize Sarah had a broken tooth either until she went in for her annual vet visit, i was even brushing her teeth weekly and she wasn't showing any signs of pain. She too was eatting and you would never know she had a broken tooth until it was removed. She was happier and more active. I am glad you are taking Annie to the vet.

My last boy had a cracked carnassial that I wouldn’t have known about but for his breath. Oh, that breath was putrid but you’d have never known from his behavior. He had another slab fracture that was monitored by a dental vet but didn’t need intervention.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

I've had two, Bandit and Melody, who had slab fractures. Since you already have a vet appointment that's good. Sometimes it bothers them, sometimes not, depends on the amount of pulp that got exposed. Extraction is generally the solution and they do very during the healing phase.

Soooooo......Annie’s tooth is just fine, as it is just some stain on that area. Someone overreacted, I was a dental hygienist for 10 years Vet said majority of people have no clue a tooth is fractured, even when “it’s flapping in the wind.”

That's a relief!
