    Molly is limping.

We went out on 10 acres this morning and she ran a lot and played a lot. Im hoping it is over use. She is limping on her front right leg. How long should I wait to take her to vet? Should I wait at all. I will do some massage and hot compress later today. She seemed fine until after she woke up from her nap

Ugh, I always hate that! I usually wait a couple of days if I did not see any specific injury, they didn't yelp or stop and hold one leg up for the duration of the play time. Did you check her feet/toes/paw pads for injuries or tenderness?

If I know there was an injury or if I know my own schedule is crazy for the next few days and taking them tomorrow would work better than taking them 3 days from now, I go ahead and take them. Sometimes the people answering the phone at my vets office try to do a little triage to see if the visit can wait. And sometimes I'm OK with that and other times I'm like, NO, I DID NOT FAST HER, SHE'S 2 1/2 MONTHS OLD AND I'M NOT GOING TO FAST A 2 1/2 MONTH OLD FOR 24 HOURS! (or whatever the case may be, I'm going out of town, I can't get off work, etc). If I didn't see an injury and my schedule is flexible enough, I give it a few days with restricted activity and leash-only walks and if it doesn't improve within a day or so, I make an appointment. You know her best, though, so you can rely on your judgement.

Whenever I Have gone to the Vet in similar situations I've been told to rest (short leash walks to potty) and wait a week.

Ah, so sorry! I have found a few days of rest and restriction to be the best first step. Healing prayers being sent.
