    Hot spot or....

Bitey face accident?? Dozer has an open area to his head that has been scabbing and re-opening over the past week and a half. I called the Vet yesterday and they asked me to bring him in to have a look at it. The Tech shaved the area and cleaned it...I’m to continue cleaning it until it scabs over. The cone of shame will have to come out if the area continues to open. I have two unhappy boys seeing as Bitey Face has been cancelled for the foreseeable future

Hard to tell from the photo. It doesn't look like a hot spot me, I would lean toward it being an injury, maybe Bitey face, maybe he just caught it on something.

I've had good luck using this stuff with cuts/wounds. Vetericyn All Animal Wound Skin Care Treatment, 8-oz bottle - Chewy.com

I have just used neosporum for superficial wounds like that per the vet. With 2 dogs I would not be surprised if Cooper licks off anything you put on it.

My Vet said no to Polysporin, unless it becomes infected... just cleaning with Peroxide and the cone if he keeps opening it. The hardest part is keeping the two dogs from playing bitey face...Cooper isn’t much of a licker, but give him a chance he has Dozers whole head between his teeth lol

I don't think it looks like a hotspot either. ONes I've seen had the hair rubbed away as the dog rubbed or pawed against it.

Neither dog has ever had one, and when I looked it up I didn’t think it looked like one either. The Vet is who mentioned it may be the start of one. Dozer isn’t scratching or rubbing the area...I’m pretty sure he has cut it somehow. It’s nice a dry today... hopefully it will stay that way

Does not look like a hot spot to me either. My first thought was a ruptured cyst but since bitey face was involved, think it might just be a small wound.

I'm trying to remember, one of my guys had a wound from bitey face. They seemed to have outgrown bitey face for now. No complaints from me. I like the snuggling so much better! hah

Good luck and hopefully it's just a little oopsie.
